How it works

Tell us what you need

Like devices, solar panels, or even motorcycles. The item price can go up to $2500.

We purchase the item for you

Choose the item and supplier you like. We’ll buy it for you and deliver it to your store.

You pay us in installments over a year

After a month passes, you start paying back the amount over a year in monthly installments.

After paying back your first loan, you can get access to larger micro-loans that reach up to $5000 in value to further grow your business.

FAQs

What are Takaful Groups?

A group of 3-9 SMEs come together to support each other financially in paying the loan installments (takaful). They each have independent projects and take loans independently from Fasila Fund for their projects. But if one of the projects is unable to pay for an installment, the others support it and receive the payment from it on a later date.

Does Fasila Fund profit from the loans?

Fasila Fund is a non-profit microfinance institution. It has a murabaha rate on each loan which it only uses to cover its operational costs. The murabaha method used is sharia-compliant and detailed by the AAOIFI foundation. For details, you can contact the Fasila Fund team.

Does Fasila Fund directly give cash?

Fasila Fund does not directly give cash but rather purchases the item your business needs, while giving you guidance on how to grow your business. As your business grows, you pay back the amount in monthly installments over a year.
